EDITORIAL

DESIGN
Responsibilities include design and production of innovative books and book-plus packages from conception to completion. Some illustrated book design experience is required.
PRODUCTION
Production team members oversee coordination of printing, manufacturing, and delivery of multiple book and book-plus packages. Responsibilities include direct contact with vendors, negotiating competitive prices with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, scheduling, and sourcing book-related add-ons. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, be competent multitasking under deadlines, and be able to work in a team-driven environment. Experience with overseas printers a plus.
PHOTO RESEARCH
Responsibilities include overseeing image research of several complex titles in a cost-effective and creative manner, serving as a liaison between the photo houses, institutions and photographers, researching and making appropriate decisions, acquiring images, obtaining permissions, negotiating costs and providing images that correspond with the manuscript. The qualified candidate can manage several projects simultaneously, communicate with internal and external customers, is highly organized, and has overall understanding and knowledge of acquiring image material and permissions.

Design:

- Assists with the secondary selling of b&m! books and SmartLab toys to select international publishers and Special Sales accounts.
